Virgin of the River
Tarazona, Spain (449)
Next to the old bullring in Tarazona is the Sanctuary of the Virgen del Rio (Virgin of the River), built between 1667 and 1672 in order to host the image of Our Lady that appeared on the river. The Virgin of the River has since become the patron saint of Tarazona, celebrating her feast on November 7. The Santuario de la Virgen del Rio is baroque in style, made of masonry and brick.
