Tabernacle of the Most High
Ngome, South Africa (1955)
Sister Reinolda May, a Benedictine nun from Germany, claimed a vision of the Virgin Mary in white on August 22, 1955. The following March, she reported another message from Mary asking for a shrine to be built.
In December 1957, when visiting a sick person in Ngome, Sister Reinolda realized that was the place for the shrine. An artist painted the picture according to the instructions from Sr. Reinolda. On May 1, 1963, Bishop Aurelian Bilgeri allowed a tiny chapel at Ngome. The apparitions and shrine became more widely known after the seer’s death in 1981.
