Our Lady of Oropa

Piedmont, Italy (3rd c.)
In Piedmont, there lies the Holy Mountain of Oropa, which is a complex of 19 chapels and several shelters built in a land where Our Lady wanted to settle.
And within the complex is the ancient image of the Black Madonna of Oropa. Her veneration was introduced by San Eusebio, who in the third century brought from the Holy Land a sculpture of the Virgin that is believed sculpted by the community of St. Luke the Evangelist.
Since then the Virgin Mary has worked a number of miracles and wonders, conversions and graces to the supernatural order. The location was recognized by UNESCO as “World Heritage”.
