Our Lady of Kerio

Noyal-Muzillac, France (1874)

Jean Pierre Le Boterff, born October 15, 1857 in   Noyal-Muzillac, was a young farmer who was very diligent and committed to his work.

On September 10, 1874, near the camp where he was intent on sowing, he saw a figure on the edge of the woods. This figure was surrounded by a highly    luminous halo which grew more distinct, until she    assumed the appearance of the Mother of God: she wore    a blue robe sprinkled with stars, a golden cloak and a    white veil. Mary invited the industrious farmer to make a pilgrimage walk to St. Anne d'Auray. The Virgin appeared to him at other times and urged him to pray for    Brittany. Some years later, Pierre entered the Fréres de l'instruction nell’Otdine Chretienne in Brittany, in the   convent of Ploermel, where he died at only 31 years.
