Our Lady of Grace 5

Garessio Valsorda, Italy (1653)

On Sunday, July 13, 1653, Mary, a young deaf and  mute, with no parents, was laying flowers in front of a Marian image when for the first time heard a voice “Go and bring me the most beautiful dress in your  clothing trunk.” The news of  the miraculous voice spread  quickly, and people ran to venerate the Virgin Mary in  the small chapel on the top of the hill.

Nine years later, on Whit Monday of 1662, the image of Our Lady was solemnly crowned. On April 3, 1858, another miracle happened: the healing of a paralytic Magdalene Ghirardi, who after years of immobility, was healed in the Sanctuary. Cholera epidemics were averted in 1630 and 1835 through the intercession of Our Lady  of Grace.
