Our Lady of Consolation 2
Ghisalba, Italy (1453)
On August 14, 1453, Antoniola, a 60 year old farmer, while having breakfast, had a vision of Mary, that the parish in that place was to erect a chapel.
To prove the request she would be stabbed in the throat with a bread knife, and Mary would protect her until the sacred place had been built. When Toniola got the commitment of the authorities for the construction, she was able to pull the knife from her throat without harm.
The chapel was built at once, and then a church was rebuilt in the seventeenth century and completely restored in 1850. The archbishop of Milan solemnly crowned the statue. On August 14, the apparition is celebrated with a novena.
