Chaplet and Consecration to the Holy Family

Holy Family Chaplet

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I give you my heart.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, be with me in my last hour.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, may I breathe forth my soul in peace with you.

Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true man.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy.
Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse. Amen.

Say 3 Our Father's, 3 Hail Mary's, and 3 Glory be's.

Consecration to the Holy Family

O Jesus, our most loving Redeemer, who having come to enlighten the world with Thy teaching and example, didst will to pass the greater part of Thy life in humility and subjection to Mary and Joseph in the poor home of Nazareth, thus sanctifying the Family that was to be an example for all Christian families, graciously receive our family as it dedicates and consecrates itself to Thee this day. Do Thou protect us, guard us and establish amongst us Thy holy fear, true peace and concord in Christian love: in order that by living according to the divine pattern of Thy family we may be able, all of us without exception, to attain to eternal happiness.

Mary, dear Mother of Jesus and Mother of us, by the kindly intercession make this our humble offering acceptable in the sight of Jesus, and obtain for us His graces and blessings.

O Saint Joseph, most holy Guardian of Jesus and Mary, help us by thy prayers in all our spiritual and temporal needs; that so we may be enabled to praise our divine Savior Jesus, together with Mary and thee, for all eternity.

Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be three times.
Amen.

and bring consolation to His Sacred Heart.

Chaplet of the Holy Spirit

(Using the Rosary)

Composed in 1892 by a Franciscan Capuchin missionary honoring the Holy Spirit. Approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1902.

This chaplet consists of 5 groups of 7 beads. Before and after each group there are 2 large beads. It begins with 3 small beads: for the sign of the Cross, an act of contrition and the hymn Come Holy Ghost.

In each group the Glory be is said on the 7 small beads, an Our Father and a Hail Mary on the 2 large beads. On the remaining 2 large beads are said the Apostles Creed and an Our Father and Hail Mary for the intention of the Holy Father.

The mysteries for each group commemorates the 5 wounds of Jesus, the fountains of grace the Holy Spirit imparts.

  1. By the Holy Spirit is Jesus conceived of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Meditation "The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the Power
of the Most High shall overshadow thee; and therefore also the Holy One who shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."
    (Luke, I, 35)
Practice Diligently implore the aid of the Divine Spirit and Mary's intercession, to imitate the virtues of Jesus Christ, the Model of virtues, so that you may be made comformable to the image of the Son of God.

  2. The Spirit of the Lord rested upon Jesus when he was baptized.
Meditation "Jesus, being baptized, forthwith came out of the water: and lo! the heavens were opened to Him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon Him." (Matthew, III, 16)
Practice Hold in the highest esteem the priceless gift of sanctifying grace, infused into your soul by the Holy Spirit in Baptism. Keep the promises to which you then pledged yourself. Increase, by constant practice, Faith, Hope, and Charity. Ever live as becometh children of God and members of God's true Church, so as to obtain, hereafter, the inheritance of heaven.

  3. By the Spirit is Jesus led into the desert to be tempted by the Devil.
Meditation "Jesus, being full of the Holy Spirit, returned from
the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the desert for the space of
forty days; and was tempted by the devil." (Luke, IV, 1-2)
Practice Be ever grateful for the sevenfold gift of the Holy
Spirit bestowed upon you in Confirmation, for the spirit of wisdom and understanding, of counsel and fortitude, of knowledge and piety, and of the fear of the Lord. Faithfully yield to His Divine guidance, so that, in all the trials and temptations of life, you may act manfully,
as becometh a perfect Christian and valiant soldier of Jesus Christ.

  4. The Holy Spirit in the Church.
Meditation "Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a mighty wind coming, and it filled the whole house wehre they were sitting....and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to
speak....the wonderful works of God." (Acts, II, 2, 4, 11.)
Practice Thank God for having made you a child of His Church which is ever animated and directed by the Divine Spirit, sent into this world for that purpose of the day of Pentecost. Hear and obey the Holy See, the infallible mouthpiece of the Holy Spirit, and the Church, the pillar and ground of truth. Uphold her doctrines, seek her interests, defend her rights.

  5. The Holy Spirit in the soul of the just.
Meditation "Know you not that you members are the temple of the Holy Spirit, Who is in you?" (I Cor., VI, 19.)
"Extinguish not the Spirit." (I Thess., V, 19.)
"And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God whereby you are sealed unto
the day of redemption." (Eph., IV, 30.)
Practice Be evver mindful of the Holy Spirit Who is within you, and carefully cultivate purity of soul and body. Faithfully obey His Divine Inspirations so taht you may bring forth the Fruits of the Spirit -- Charity, Joy, Peace, Patience, Eenignity, Goodness, Long-suffering, Mildness, Faith, Modesty, Continency, Chastity.

Conclude with the "I believe" as a profession of faith.

Say finally once Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory be, for the intentions of the Pope.

The Chaplet of Saint Michael the Archangel

(Using the Rosary)

The Chaplet of St. Michael is a wonderful way to honor this great
Archangel along with the other nine Choirs of Angels. What do we
mean by Choirs? It seems that God has created various orders of
Angels. Sacred Scripture distinguishes nine such groupings:
Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominions, Powers, Virtues,
Principalities, Archangels and Angels (Isa. 6:2; Gen. 3:24; Col.
1:6; Eph. 1:21; Rom. 8:38). There may be more groupings but these
are the only ones that have been revealed to us. The Seraphim is
believed to be the highest Choir, the most intimately united to God,
while the Angelic Choir is the lowest.

The history of this Chaplet goes back to a devout Servant of God,
Antonia d'Astonac, who had a vision of St. Michael. He told Antonia
to honor him by nine salutations to the nine Choirs of Angels. St.
Michael promised that whoever would practice this devotion in his
honor would have, when approaching Holy Communion, an escort of nine
angels chosen from each of the nine Choirs. In addition, for those
who would recite the Chaplet daily, he promised his continual
assistance and that of all the holy angels during life.

The Chaplet of Saint Michael

O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be
to the Father, etc.

(Say one Our Father and three Hail Marys after each of the following
nine salutations in honor of the nine Choirs of Angels)

1. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Seraphim may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of
perfect charity. Amen.

2. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Cherubim may the Lord grant us the grace to leave the ways of sin
and run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen.

3. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Thrones may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere
spirit of humility. Amen.

4. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Dominions may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and
overcome any unruly passions. Amen.

5. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Powers may the Lord protect our souls against the snares and
temptations of the devil. Amen.

6. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Virtues may the Lord preserve us from evil and falling into
temptation. Amen.

7. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Principalities may God fill our souls with a true spirit of
obedience. Amen.

8. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Archangels may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all
good works in order that we may attain the glory of Heaven. Amen.

9. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Angels may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in this mortal
life and conducted in the life to come to Heaven. Amen.

Say one Our Father in honor of each of the following leading Angels:
St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael and our Guardian Angel.

Concluding prayers

O glorious prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the
heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits,
servant in the house of the Divine King and our admirable conductor,
you who shine with excellence and superhuman virtue deliver us from
all evil, who turn to you with confidence and enable us by your
gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.

Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus
Christ, that we may be made worthy of His promises.

Almighty and Everlasting God, Who, by a prodigy of goodness and a
merciful desire for the salvation of all men, has appointed the most
glorious Archangel St. Michael Prince of Your Church, make us
worthy, we ask You, to be delivered from all our enemies, that none
of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be
conducted by him into Your Presence. This we ask through the merits
of Jesus Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

Chaplet of the seven sorrows of mary

(To pray it – we use Rosary)

This devotion, instituted in the course of the thirteenth century, honors the Sorrows endured by the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is recited on a Rosary comprised of seven decades containing seven beads in each decade. Each decade of seven is divided from the rest by medals representing the seven principal sorrows of Her life.

The chaplet is said by offering a Hail Mary on each of the beads, with an Our Father each seven Hail Mary's. Completion of the chaplet requires three Hail Mary's at the end in honor of the sorrowful tears of Our Lady.

First Sorrow:

Reflect on the sorrow of Our Blessed Lady, when She presented Her Divine Child in the Temple and heard from the aged Simeon that a sword of grief would pierce Her soul.

Second Sorrow:

Reflect on Her sorrow when, to escape the cruelty of King Herod, She was forced to fly into Egypt with St. Joseph and Her Beloved Child. Pray for those who kill children today by abortion.

Third Sorrow:

Reflect on Her grief when, in returning from Jerusalem, She found that She had lost Her dear Jesus, Whom She sought for three days.

Fourth Sorrow:

Reflect on Her meeting Her divine Son, all bruised and bleeding, carrying His Cross to Calvary, and seeing Him fall under its heavy weight.

Fifth Sorrow:

Reflect on Her standing by, when Her Divine Son was lifted up on the Cross and the blood flowed in streams from His Sacred Wounds.

Six Sorrow:

Reflect on Her sorrow, when Her Divine son was taken down from the Cross, and placed in Her arms.

Seven Sorrow:

Reflect on Her following His Sacred Body as it was borne by Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus to the sepulcher.

Prayers of the Chaplet:
