Our Lady of the Rosary 5

Andacollo, Chile (1676)

Andacollo receives its named after a miracle of the Virgin. An Indian who was mining perceived a strange light in the copper mine where he worked. The vision said “There are many steps ahead - look among the highest cliffs that are in the plain that stretches over your head. Collo Anda”.

And there he found a small wooden statue of the Virgin of dark complexion, which then proved to be miraculous.

The dedication has two feasts, the Great Feast that is between 24 and 26 December, and the feast celebrated on the first weekend of October. The image of the Virgin of Andacollo was solemnly crowned on December 26, 1901. The decree was signed by Pope Leo XIII.
