Prayer of the Day

Grant a resting place to the souls
of the faithful in the arms of our ancestors,
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Feed them
in a fertile land and by the waters of comfort,
in a paradise of joy and in that place
from which the broken heart, sorrow
and sighing have flown. Make them rest
in that dwelling, Lord, and in the light of your saints,
and do the same for us also who are sojourners
on this earth. Keep us in your faith and grant us
your peace unto the end.
Amen.
